Privacy policy

The short version

Tallied reads, sorts and stores your statements on your iPhone. Your statements, transactions, balances, budgets and anything worked out from them are never sent to Zephy Studio or to anyone else. We don't run servers that receive your data, and Tallied has no account to sign up for.

What stays on your iPhone

Statement files you import or save to your statements folder, the transactions read from them, your categories, rules, budgets, household details and notes. They are stored in the app's private storage with iOS data protection, so they are encrypted while your iPhone is locked.

Passwords for locked statements are kept in the iOS Keychain on this device only; they are not included in backups.

Categorising is done on your iPhone, including by Apple's on-device model (Apple Intelligence) where available. Nothing is sent to a cloud AI service.

What leaves your iPhone, and only if you allow it

To recognise a shop Tallied doesn't know, it can look up the shop's name as it appears on the statement (for example “SQ *BLUE BTL TP”) with Apple Maps, OpenStreetMap (nominatim.openstreetmap.org) and Singapore's public register of businesses (data.gov.sg). Only the name is sent: never an amount, a date, a card or account number, or anything about you. These services may see your device's IP address, as with any internet request. You can turn each lookup off in Settings → Privacy and lookups.

If you choose a statements folder in iCloud Drive, those files are stored by Apple in your own iCloud account, as with any file you keep there.

Backups

Your iPhone's own backup (iCloud Backup or a backup to your computer) may include Tallied's data, as it does for most apps. Backups are controlled by you and never reach us.

What we don't do

No advertising, no analytics, no tracking, no third-party SDKs that collect data, and no selling or sharing of data. Tallied doesn't ask for your bank login.

Purchases

If Tallied offers a subscription, payment is handled by Apple through the App Store. We receive no payment details.

Your control

Settings → Erase all data deletes everything Tallied has stored. Deleting the app does the same. You can export your transactions as a CSV file at any time.
